On our hike in the Mountains of Kadisha Valley we would occasionally hear jets overhead and at the same time were surrounded by beauty, seeking moments of respite in those old mountain caves like our ancestors did for thousands of years.
We were greeted by around 30 goats, a good omen. History says shepherding in our region is a 10,000+ year old trade. Witnessing them brings me so much joy especially when I’m able to capture their glance, something that says we’ve been here a long time, seen it all, and will remain here.
